Roscommon County Habitat for Humanity’s goal is

to eliminate sub-standard housing in our county.

Out of our love for Christ we will reach this goal

by providing safe, decent, affordable housing

for low-income families in need.

Habitat for Humanity is a self-help, non-discriminatory, non-profit, Christian housing ministry that provides safe, decent, affordable housing for God’s people in need.

Throughout 1988, The Roscommon County Ministerial Association held ongoing meetings to discuss a solution to the need for affordable housing in our area. As a result, on February 14, 1990, at a Kick-Off Celebration, The Roscommon County Habitat for Humanity affiliate was born.  Since then we have provided 58 families with homes of their own.

Roscommon County Habitat for Humanity has tithed since its inception in 1990.  However, in 1998 our Board of Directors committed to tithing 10% of the money we receive from the mortgage payments from our families.  That tithe is sent to Habitat for Humanity International for the express purpose of building.
